COLLEEN & JOE / Charleston Tea Plantation Wedding

I'm super excited to share Colleen and Joe's gorgeous holiday wedding at the Charleston Tea Plantation! This is also my first time posting a story on my new website. Thanks Squarespace ;). So Colleen and Joe's wedding was simply a perfect holiday wedding. I started by capturing Colleen and her nearest and dearest getting ready at an awesome little rental of Broad Street, right in the heart of downtown Charleston. If you're not from here, Charleston is beeeutiful around Christmas. Everyone goes all out decorating their already colorful doors and iron gates. So, it was fun to start the day in this setting. Colleen looked gorgeous and perfect for the weather in her velvet gown, fur shawl, and orchid flower crown! Yes, that's right - a crown made of white orchids to sit atop her amazing curly locks.

After getting ready we drove over to the Charleston Tea Plantation on Wadmalaw Island. It was my first time shooting there and I loved it! Joe and Colleen had their first look under big windy oak trees and then hopped on the charming red trolly to the ceremony site. Joe, in uniform looked fantastic and I loved his contrast with Colleen's bohemian style gown. Just lovely.

After the ceremony and some portraits around the Tea Plantation, we headed to Joe's aunt's home for an intimate reception. Everything was decorated with a sparkle in the dark theme and it was so beautifully done. Joe's aunt worked hard to set it all up and even made their incredible cake!

It was such a joy to share this day with Colleen and Joe. Thank you for having me and congratulations you two!!
